What is the definition of "PLC"?

A Programmable Logic Controller, or PLC, is a ruggedized computer used for industrial automation. 

These controllers can automate a specific process, machine function, or even an entire production line.


How does a PLC work?

When the PLC is put into operation, its working process is generally divided into three stages, namely, input sampling, 

user program execution and output refresh.Completing the above three stages is called a scan cycle.

The programmable logic controller's CPU repeats all three phases at a certain scanning speed throughout the run.
